Default Front windshield molding

My front windshield molding is starting to crack, and I was wondering if anyone has replaced theirs. Possibly use a generic one instead of OEM?

I just replaced my front moldings when I had the windshield replaced a couple of months ago. I think it ended up being around $150 for the sides and the top, and the new moldings do come with all new clips.
I haven't seen a generic molding out there but even if there was I would still go oem

Did you do the work yourself? Someone told me I have to have a windshield repair specialist replace the moldings. Is that true?

The front windshield moldings all clip on from the outside.

No, I provided the new moldings, then paid $280(parts & labor) for the new windshield.

I went OEM, they can still be purchased from the dealer so it was a no-brainer.
