Default 98 crv clock

I was reading through a couple of threads and bumped into the clock thread. My clock is also dead. So I took off the clock and soldered the resistors except the one under the lcd and connected it. The clock started working, and it kept time but it sometimes turned off (no display). So I reopened the clock and soldered the resistor behind the lcd buy removing the lcd, but after I did that and reconnected the clock it will not work. There is no display. I got it checked by a technician and he is saying its the lcd. Any ideas.

my clock just started doing a similar thing. Sometimes i look at and there is no display and i just pound my fist on the dash above it and it comes back on. I am subscribing, should i just buy a whole new clock?

I want to say it'sm model specific, being the dash/vents are a little different. Than again, I've never tried a Civic one, because all mine works.

Went to the dealer, he said they just go out and the cheap replacement should be a "dollar" led stick-on. Mine does it as well, replaced the alternator before I found this out...not happy. 2001 CRV
