how can i tell if i have ctr or itr gears
i bought a transmission with an lsd diff the guy told me that it was a ctr but i am not sure of that. I have the gears out of the case i want to know just by looking at it or counting the teeth i don't know i dont know how to work on transmissions yet so i am trying to figure it out if anyone can help i would really appreciate it i can post pics up if needed thank you

ok thank you that really helped me out alot and i found out that its a gsr transmission from doing the 3rd gear ratio.. sorry i am a noob at transmissions.... i have a full ls hydro transmission everything ls and i have the my gsr gear just out because i don't have a trans case for it.. 1st question is the ls and the gsr counter shaft the same i did my own work to figure it i counted all the teeth on each shaft 5th gear -26 4th gear-30 3rd gear-34 2nd gear-38 1st gear- 42 and bottom gear is 15 they look the same all the gears the same i just want to this to be confirmed because my gsr counter shaft bottom gear is all worn out like not even there and i want to use the ls counter shaft with the gsr gears because 3 and 4 gear grin really bad..and can i use the ls 64 teeth main gear or do i have to get a gsr 66 teeth main gear. please help me out thank you if i didnt explain my self well i will try to re explain it thank u
You need to explain it a little better.
LS and GSR countershafts are not the same. You cannot mix and match gears (i.e. using a complete GSR mainshaft assembly with a complete LS countershaft assembly).
Pictures of the worn gear will help.
