Default What should my next mod be?

I've have my 01 gsr for about 2 years now and so far i've lowered it on sheepdog springs and tokico illuminas, a comptech header, comptech intake with icebox, and an act streetlite flywheel. Cars a blast to drive but i'd like to make a few more peformance mods, but i'm not sure of what to modify next and what are my tuning options since it's obd-2.

I'm open to all suggestions.

Grab a conversion harness, a set of cams and valvetrain.

I would also go for exhaust, then any suspension upgrades you have not already made, then brakes. 94

ITR brake upgrade is worth doing

cat back is worth doing since it's a supporting mod

personally i wouldn't waste a dime more on a 10:1 compression engine. and the reason why is hp per dollar. you're talking about fairly large dollar outlays for a few hp. larger cams can gain you somewhere around 10hp but let's look at the cost

used itr cams $350
new skunk stage 1 cams $599
itr yellow intake springs $60
new valve seals $45
single runner manifold $200-350

the p73 ecu will be really close but an actual tune will net you better mpg and a solid 5whp more in a lota cases.

if you set the cams up yourself and just ran a jdm itr ecu it could be done for about $750 which will put you somewhere around 185-190 crank hp.

if you want to go fast save your money and build a proper turbo setup and leave your car stock with a good exhaust

that of course will cost some cash so if you really want to stay cheap and blow past stock ITR's you find yourself a nice used jackson supercharger for $1000, spend $159 on a socketed obd1 ecu and $350 on the tune. you just picked up somewhere around 75hp for 2x what the cam change would cost. here's how gains break down ...roughly

10hp = $750
75hp = $1500
150hp = $3000 {turbo}

Go obd1, for tuning purposes

Exhaust- 3in straight pipe 100$, muffler 75-300$ (depending on brand of course)

Shave the head down to bump compression- 50ish$

Hondata thermal intake gasket-60$

anybody have chart for that comptech header? Never used, seen, or heard of anyone using them. May have room to grow with the header

if he shaves the head enough to actually gain .75 to 1 point of compression he'll retard cam timing somewhere around 3-4deg and decrease piston to valve clearance should he go larger cams in the future. you're also talking about a **** ton of work for less than 10hp

shave $50
HG $50
cam gears $200

that's $300 in parts PLUS you have to reset cam lash and degree the cams with that much shaved off. you could probably wing it just going +3 and testing on the dyno but even that is time and $

You can't run a s200 with an obd2 ecu. You would need a chipped obd1 ecu to run any tuning software unless you go the AEM route which IMO is not worth the money for minor upgrades like yours. Running Crome is enough already.

So would the easiest thing for me to do is buy an obd1 ecu, jumper harness, a hondata s300, and get it tuned. but what about the immobilizer on my car?
