This car is not being sold by an insurance company so it wasnt totaled just because of a fender.
Anyone can sell their car on copart, they just have to pay some fee's.
It looks like the owner of the car decided that fixing the fender wasnt worth it and put it in this auction which makes you wondering what is really wrong with it. It migh be the motor/trans, even though it has the run & drive verification that does not mean that the motor/trans is good, it just means that the car could move forward under its own power.

My guess is that it got hit some what t-bone style on the fender or was turned into. The rear beam is probably bent. I guess if you could get it for around 5k, providing it had a good engine and trans, you could part it out and make a little bit. $3200 for the swap, $1200 for the interior, $600 or $700 for body panels, $500 or so for other random stuff, and maybe $200 for the scrap value of what ever is left. You could probaly make $600-$1000 parting it out. Not to bad.
