ABS Still Doesn't Work
My ABS started to act up about 2 years ago where it worked on and off and then just went out. I cleaned the two front sensors but that didn't help. I was informed that it is probably caused by dirty rear sensors because they are internal. I don't like ABS so I just removed the fuse and the dash light, been driving without it for two years.
Just yesterday I removed the rear drums and took the hub out. The sensor was cruded over and the teeth on the hub where all black and filled with dirty. I cleaned both out, put it all back in place, put the fuse back in and the light remains on. ABS does not work.
I did not run the diagnostic to see what error code its throwing, I just assumed it was a bad/dirty sensor. I inspected the sensors and the wires, they appear fine.
I don't need ABS so I have no problem unplugging it or doing a delete down the road.
Before I follow the DYI to get the error code out, should I have done a ECU reset to clear the error code?
