Need advice on a possible new FI car
Sup guys,
OK here's my dilema. I'm new the import scene but I've been on here for bout 8-9 months researching. My attention has been placed on an Acura Integra. Originally my plan was to buy a 94-95 LS with high mileage and have the engine resleeved and built up in order for a turbo to go on. My final goal is not to have a 9 second car or anything but something that's a little faster than my Grand Cherokee. I came across a 97 Integra LS 3 door (2 door and hatch?) for $5500 that's been hit in the front end but is still driveable. It comes with all the parts which is basically a new bumper. The radiator was completely ok. I was originally wanting a 94-95 just for OBD-I so my hondata would be more plug and chug type application I suppose a harness conversion or whatever has to be done wouldn't be too bad? Do you think I should go ahead and buy the car or keep waiting for 94-95 to roll around? I'm taking matters such as the car has low mileage with 61k on it and the shape of the car is probably better than I will find that's older. What about insurance will there be much of a difference? I was really wanting a SE with the leather seats but I think I'll live. Anyhow if anyone can give me some advice on what to do please do. I'm gonna check the car out again Friday and try and make a decision over the weekend. Please post anything that comes to mind about doing this.
Thanks,
Noel

make sure frame is straight. (sounds like it since radiator is ok)
is it salvaged ? make sure your insurance will cover it if it is.
the OBD-1 conversion will cost about 200 for the harness adapter, then about 200(?) for the ECU. if that 400 or so dollars, and the work done to fix the front bumper offsets the price enough to keep you from looking around more, go for it.
