Honda wont start after timing belt replacement
i just recently replaced by timing belt on my 1994 honda accord lx and so far after repeat placement changes and everything it still wont start. it feels like its trying to but it has a high pitch whine everytime i turn the ignition. it sounds almost like the flywheel is spinning free though i can tell that it isnt. all nut and bolts are in place and all the wireing is connected. anyone have any ideas what it could be?
If there's a high pitch whine, I'm afraid there's no compression; unless, I'm reading this wrong. Probably a bent valve either an exhaust or intake valve. A leakdown test will be your best bet which will tell you what can be the culprit. Compression will only measures compression rings, bent rod, or bent valve between the two valves of the intake and exhaust but won't tell you which one exactly if you get what I'm saying.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.
The belt had broke. Ive tried to start the car a few times and so far it seems like is has gone farther in trying to start but still nothing yet. Im wondering if the timing is still off since i have to set 2 parts for mine.
Well.. as has been said earlier in this thread.
Typically when a honda timing belt breaks there is a reasonable chance of internil engine damage. Either that's the case or your timing is off..

ok, is the exhaust shooting out of the intake?? if so your either out of time. If you took the distributor off, take it back out and turn it 180 degrees. If that was the problem, car should crank right up. I just rebuilt my 83 and had the same problem
