ECU/OBDII help
I recently picked up a 96 accord coupe. Car is obdII and came with the stock f22b single cam vtec.
I'm pulling the damaged motor and plan to swap in the F20B dohc vtec from the 97-01 euro accord R's.
knowing that both my car is OBDII w/ vtec and the F20B vtec is obdII as well, i'll have no issue with my wiring harness. But will my oem ecu run the F20B, if not what obdII ecu will run the motor properly?
I've searched and called a few different places, but they continue to tell me "just buy this obdII-OBDI adapter harness from us and get a chipped p28". while i'm aware this is an option, it does not answer my question, nor is it the route i plan to go. I do not plan on any excessive engine mods that will necessitate the need for a tunable ecu, the stock power outputs of a F20B are fine for me in a DD scenario. as well I would prefer the car to remain obdII to retain the ease of obdII diagnostics.
So can anyone clear this up for me, I've always dealt with cars that were built in the OBDI era where pretty much any obdI vtec ecu will run any obdI vtec motor. is this still the case, or is there a ecu specifically i should attain?
Thanks in advance.

The ECU used for the F20B is a PCF ecu, I'm not 100% but I think it may have an Immobilizer or some other swap issue. If you can't find A PCF that will work a 1996 P13 would probably be your best OBD2 OEM option. It doesn't have the Immobilizer.
