crankshaft pulley? B18c1
hey guys so i bought a gsr motor and im going to put it in my eg and im going the timing belt waterpump ect, before i put it in the eg but what i wanted to know is the crankshaft pulley should be very tight when connected to the crankshaft or can it be a little bit loose? Would i need to get a new one? And if i do would this one be good http://thmotorsports.com/unorthodox_...610912-03-1996 thanks
if the crankshaft is loose you need to be sure its balanced properly. it needs to be tightened down to 130ft-lbs. of torque. a caddywompus crankshaft at 8k rpms??? ill let you take your best guess at what kind of nasty its gonna play with your internals
as far as the unorthodox pulley.... meh its a well worn subject... some like lightened pulley's, some dont... really up to you

you need to make sure the crankshaft pulley you have on there is the correct one for the motor i.e a b-series pulley. as far as the unorthodox crankshaft pulley... my opinion is i'd rather ****** up an oem type-r pulley.... honda engineer's are f'n geniuses so i trust them above all else first
I have always heard that the bigger the crank pulley the better for FI applications. If you are sticking N/A any good aftermarket pulley is good such as the one you mentioned. The Crank pulley should go on tight with the pin in proper place but will have a little (very little) wiggle so you can get it off. Should have to wiggle up and down to take off. You can tighten with compressed air and an impact gun (that is what I do). Stock Honda parts are normally very balanced. A great example is the Honda cranks which mine was only off 2 grams (which is small compared to V8's). The Motor is externally balanced by the harmonic balancer which is the pulley you are talking about. If it is chipped worry about it...if not make sure you got the key in and you should be fine
