Is there a difference in hydro & cable clutches?!
Alright so I fully built a ls vtec and planned on putting it in my eg hatch so I bought a stage 4 competition clutch for my gsr hydro tranny. I have now boughten a ef hatch and decided to put the built motor into that and go boost in the eg hatch. I don't wanna have to buy a new clutch though for the ef if I can just use my stage 4 that I already have...so is there any difference in clutches for cable trannys and clutches for hydro trannys?!?!?!
Depends on the year cable tranny that you intend to run in the 88-91. JDM civic/crx B16A tranny and usdm 90-91 integra have one spline count, and 92-93 integra usdm/JDM have ys1 which is the same as a hydro spline count. I don't know about pressure plate differences but the clutch disk for a 92-01 integra are the same to my knowlede. Personally I have ran a 95 integra clutch disk in my old ys1 tranny.
Okay well I'm runnin a b16 cable trans do t know what it came out of but might just make a trip to the shop and buy a new performance clutch for cable trans
As already mentioned, cable tranny's came in two versions....
-90/91 had a small spline mainshaft, so a specific disk was used
-92/93 had a larger mainshaft design, the same as all newer hydro tranny's
Both flywheels and pressure plates were the same, it was only the disk that was different if you had the very 1st gen B16 gearbox like an S1 or Y1
