Integra Doesn't Start... I think I've checked everything!!! Need help/ideas...
So I drove home from work on Friday about a 30min drive and everything was uneventful... My 92 Integra GS has always ran and started great. When I parked the car there was no weird noises or smells or sounds...
On Monday the car wouldn't start!!!
So I got a new cap and rotor... Nothing
New ICM... Nothing
New Ignition Coil... Nothing
check grounds... Both trans and valve cover grounds
checked for spark... Good have spark
checked for fuel... Good gas misting out the spark plug holes
checked my timing next... Good timing perfect
the motor turns over just fine, just won't start...
I am out of ideas!!!!

Ignition switch maybe...just another idea. I have seen the switches malfunction allowing everything you say to work properly, but as soon as you let off the key everything quits working...You could also try a known working dizzy. Good luck!
i would say main relay but if that was bad i dont think u would have spark. Hmmm u say fuel is good, engine u said turns over ... idk im at a lost too sorry bro
That is strange...
Have you checked fuel pressure?
Have you checked compression?
Have you checked the grounds at the thermostat housing?
You say you have spark, is it a "good" spark, how did you test the spark?
Any chance a "buddy" or family member is messing with you, like maybe switching the spark leads around? 94

Does the cel stay on for a couple of seconds and then goes out when the ignition switch is turned to "on" II i.e.( position where all cluster indicators light up-) or does the cel stay "on"
although i kinda doubt it'll help, try checking the codes.
as stated, how did the spark look? did it look like it was in sync? or was it more random looking?
how did the plugs look? when is the last time they'd been done?
you could also try using some starter fluid. if it fires up with that, you'll know your timing is good, and it's probably a fuel related issue
but yes, i'd probably check the codes just for the hell of it. it might actually tell you something

also, are you sure you have fuel in the tank? i know it sounds silly, but it happens. gauge may not be reading accurately
however, i definitely wouldn't go out and buy a new one. most i'd probably do is pull it, have a very close look at the solder joints. with a magnifying glass even. and i suppose resolder it while it's out, regardless of my findings
hmmm. that is very interesting. if that is true, i'll or retract my statement regarding the relay.

Good luck hope you fix your car
alright, on DA s theres a very common problem with the cooling tempeture switch right underneath the dizzy, it seems when the switch goes bad makes your car too rich and wont start. check if its connected, make sure that the wires are in tact with the plug..
wtf do u mean are you guys serious? Your the fuc*ing moron excuse my language but u said main relay like really if you can hear the fuel pump turn on when u turn the key over that means the main relay is fine and working and grounding the ecu. do some research before you talk **** and act like u know a damn bout cars haha kids these days

"the motor turns over just fine, just won't start" My guess it is probably not a starter problem.
Also, just because you can hear the fuel pump does not mean the PGM-FI Main Relay is good, there can still be a problem with the injector relays output, that by the way supplies 12V+ signal to the ECU not a ground.
Sounds to me like your the one that needs to do some research before you call others morons, I mean it's not like you have made any constructive suggestions for the OP.
BTW, best suggestion so far, [considering what OP said he has checked] and one I failed to mention is...
RTUNED BUILT "alright, on DA s theres a very common problem with the cooling temperature switch right underneath the dizzy, it seems when the switch goes bad makes your car too rich and wont start. check if its connected, make sure that the wires are in tact with the plug" 94
Yes...I actually have had three honda made cars have bad ignition switches which would allow them to start almost, but as soon as you let the key back they would stop running. One was a '93 civic, another a '94 integra, and even a '98 prelude. Keep in mind that some people actually work on Hondas instead of just acting like they do. It is a lot easier to run your mouth online behind your screen name, but as I always say, if you wouldn't say something to my face, you probably shouldn't post it. OP: I hope you get this thing running soon. Good luck!
Also, see above post from fcm.

Definitely not a starter problem. Cmon, guys :D
To the OP, did you check the spark in all 4 cylinders or just pulled one and made a conclusion? I had this type of problem where I thought I had everything, but after third time testing, the spark disappeared. Replaced the distributor and the motor started right up.
Does the engine catch at all or just turns over like there is nothing in it?
Try some starting fluid.

I agree with you on the ign. switch, [fairly common problem on older Honda/Acura] however, the OP is getting spark, [you would not if it was an ign. switch problem, [no power to distributor assembly] OPs car will also not start at all... "the motor turns over just fine, just won't start"94

ye sure. throw a starter at it. sounds logical
kid? please..
Not absolutely true, although a few years ago I would have agreed. On the civic and prelude I fixed last year, it would actually stay running (and grind the starter of coarse) if you kept the key turned forward, but as soon as you let off, it would shut off. Very strange, but I promise you that's what happened.
OP does not say engine starts but stalls as soon as he releases the ign. key from start position, if it does he would have said so, or should have. 94
