Car jerks when rolling slow
My car likes to jerk or hesitate and then pop forward when rolling in 1st and 2nd and just barley touching the gas. If i'm rolling through a parking lot or stop and go traffic when I press the gas just enough to keep the car moving it acts like its not getting any gas and then all of a sudden jerks forward. It makes me look like I dont know how to drive a stick and its really making me mad. I give it gas and it just sits there for a second and doesnt do anything and then BAM it just jerks acouple times and accels hard for a second or two. It runs fine when I'm at speed and really pushing it, has a smooth idle, and no check engine lights. It does smell like gas really bad inside my car after it does the jerking thing (like smells coming through the vents). No gas leaks that I can see and the rings on the injectors seem to be fine. The only thing I can think of is my fuel filter is bad. Any ideas guys? Thanks

Mine does the same thing as well. I just have to be extremely careful with the throttle in 1st at low speeds. It will jerk bad if im crusing at like 10mph or so in 1st and let off. Its annoying because I have no idea what causes it as well.

sticky throttle body or throttle cable / tps sensor broken / tune up plugs wires cap rotor / are some of the things id check first and replace fuel filter just because its good maintence
I see, funny thing is my original GSR motor and ecu never had this problem until my current setup.
I haven't had this issue since I installed new energy suspension motor mount inserts for my lower torque mounts.

My car does this sometimes and it is working just fine. Sometimes a resonance is established with the IACV, ECU, and drive train. Push in the clutch and let it back out and the resonance should stop. It may reinitiate if the conditions are the same.
yup, this is what i was thinking is your problem. worn torque mounts and when you give enough gas the engine jumps forward and jerks car. my car did this for a bit till i replaced a torn torque mount. still does it a little but i have inserts i have to install.
So I was just thinking it could be tuning related?
try putting it in 2nd and roll at like 4-5krpm and let go of gas, if you feel it jerk back pretty bad like the engine moving around its your motor mounts/torque mounts.
My old teg did this when my throttle position sensor was fubar'd. Getting a replacement was easy, screwing it down with a volt meter in it to make sure it was in the right position down to the hair was a bitch
Does your car throw a CEL?
Good luck.

My car also does this if I'm rolling slow and close the throttle quickly. It happens more so right around the engine idle speed, so the 750 rpm idle is also trying to roll the wheels (and car) forward. The slower and gentler I close the throttle, the less it happens.
I think this is just a characteristic of manual transmission cars. It's always done it, and my old car did the same. I've put over 200K miles on my car since I bought it so I don't really worry about it too much.

My old civic did that too. I always though it was something with clutch and first gear cause i could be at 500rpm in 2nd gear and not get that jerk. so it can't be Fuel related has to be tranny and clutch related
