Icon2 Engine Temp Gauge wont work? 94 accord

My engine temp gauge located next to the RPM will not show any change in temp. its not responding no matter how long i drive, what is the possible source of the problem? maybe there is a sending unit that went bad? also the entire cluster rpm speedometer is burnt out , it wont light up at all.so i am currently driving without being able to always see exactly how fast im going, suggestion on what my problems might be?and how to fix.

thank you

Yes the temp sender could be bad or the wire to it has an issue...and at last the gauge could be shot. If you ground the wire, turn the key on-does the gauge move-DO NOT LET IT PEG or you will damage the gauge.

The lights-fuses, dash dimmer, wires, bulbs- the list could go on. What has been ruled out?

There's a one wire to a pin located underneath the distributor coming out from the head that might've been loose. That is the connection to the temp gauge of your cluster. Mine came loose a couple of times when I notice that my gauge won't go up even though it's blowing out hot heat. Like shown here:

Otherwise, OHM check the ECT sensor on the Thermostat Housing to see if there's continuity and check that there's power and ground coming from the harness. If both of these things I talked about tested good then replaced the temp gauge motor on your gauge cluster by removing it out and replace it with a good working one.

Good Luck!
