whats the difference in these cam seals
i just bought my 99 Ls coupe and found that the cam seal is leaking. plan on ordering a new one this weekend. but little confused. according to jhpusa's site the cam seals they offer only work on vtec motors and state they wont work on a b18b1 http://www.jhpusa.com/store/pc/viewP...idcategory=352. but check weksos and it says they work on all motors? http://www.weaksauceparts.com/store/home.php?cat=1811 which is it?
Do yourself a favor and just get an oem cam seal. You wont have to take things appart like you will with that skunk2 billet one. The oem one just taps right in. A cam seal is a cam seal. They will all leak eventually. Save the hassle and go oem. I am speaking from experience on this one.
every where else i have looked has said to get an aftermarket seal that theyre better then the plastic oem. and that the oem will leak before the aftermarket ones. i found blox seals for 12

Get the aftermarket seal PLEASE! Don't you think there is a reason these started being produced? If you're to lazy like the guy above to pull your valve cover and 2x10mm bolts holding the cam cap down then you shouldn't be into cars.
Yea I'm lazy because I use OEM parts. I do what I choose not what others are hepped up on. Just because its billet and uses o-rings doesnt mean its not going to leak. The only billet cam seal I would recommend is the one golden eagle makes. You still have to remove the cam cap, but its a quality peace. I just prefer the oem piece. No need to call me lazy.

They all do the same thing. Bought my Skunk2 one from here: http://www.upnextcarparts.com/p-6355...-cam-seal.aspx
There is a diff in aftermarket cam seals as with any aftermarket product. Go with what fits your budget and company that has a good rep for a quality product. Beware of the super cheap knockoff stuff. I've been in the import scene for long while now so I know what works and what doesn't, whats a good product and so on....

Get the Blox one. It works great and is like $15 shipped. I have one in my ls motor right now. Actually it's been in both of my Ls motors.
I've had a blox one in my b16 for almost a year and still nice and dry. All these aftermarket ones have their logo on the seal but you can't even see it hidden behind the vtec solenoid.

Geez, yes they all do the same thing!! I'm talking about the quality of the product, the mill specs of it when it was made and what co. made it, quality of the material used to make the part...yada yada and so on...
Material and size??
It literally does nothing, material doesn't mean **** the oem ones are plastic.
And all of them come with rubber o ring gaskets, so their size is pretty much irrevelant they all seal good.
Don't come on here and try wasting our time trying to make technical bullshit about a cam seal. And I hope to god u got somethin else to post beside a pos F150

You really should take another look at my vehicles, its a f350, also have a 08 tl and a 94 gsr that I am currently rebuilding the complete car! Also how can you call my truck a pos? You have never seen it, you know nothing about it! I'm not calling your rides "pos" am I? Didn't think so!
I am understanding what you're getting at, you took the most simplistic part on the car, and tryed to make this guy think like it has the importance of a camshaft.
Its nothing but a little plug, OP, they are all they same, and ALL OF THE WILL LEAK IF NOT INSTALLED RIGHT,
Pick which logo you would like to display on your engine, that's about it

Actually there are two types of cam seals. The OG ones were made of solid rubber and had leak problems. The newer OEM cam seals were plastic and had rubber O-rings around them and they work just like the billet aftermarket ones (some say that they are even better because you can simply snap them in from the side without taking anything apart - i.e. after pulling off the old rubber one).
