Okay so my 91 civic is making a whistling sound under light acceleration I haven't heard it while I'm sittin at idle but it's very annoying as a drive has anyone ever encountered this problem I need help tracking it down any help would be appreciated

Does it only do it while in gear or can you hear it while coasting in neutral?

 

Dude its Normal i bet you have a cheap filter on ur intake right? anyways just upgrade to a name brand filter like aem or k&n and problem solved Good Luck..

if u dont have a aftermarket intake

check the hose going from the head to the intake tube

mine was doing the same **** last week

i got the same problem to on my ls swap never did it before the swap (with same intake/filter) but has always done it AFTER the swap... and i have no idea what it is... tho i have just learned to deal with it

91 civic zc sohc stock air box.. and fram filter it just started this.. and it kinda sounds like its under the dash somewhere?
i bought the car from a kid that "tried" to wiretuck it and i have been routing wires and vac line and trying to get them in the right spot..
if i give it a little gas on the highway i can hear it. if i give more gas it goes away. and then also when i let off the gas it goes away as well..

 

there should be a little screw on the throttle body unscrew that a little fixed my whistling problem

Throttle body spacers make a whistling noise sometimes. You have one of those installed?

 

no tb spacer as i said sounds like inside the car? under the dash or near the cluster

 

might be ur intake mani. gasket heard that before

 

Unscrew the screw on the throttle body a little bit and that should fix it. But if it doesnt start checking for vacume leaks

it's probably your intake mine did it on my GSR and my prelude does it too. With no intake on the throttle body it still whistles
