how are you mounting you harnesses?
i was wondering how you guys are mounting your harnesses, obviously the shoulder straps go to the harness bar, but what about the lower straps? before i just had them bolted to my seat brackets, but some of my scca friends are giving me **** for it saying they need to go to the floor with plates etc, and the nhra rulebook is pretty vague. just looking for some input......
4"x4" backing plate on the bottom of the car with a hole in the middle. then ran eyelets with big washers through the floor and plate then bolted them up
sounds like a plan. what thickness of plate? 1/8" like for cages? any of the harness/safety companies make like an install kit or am i better off just makin my own?
looks like gforce sells an eyebolt/washer/bolt combo for like $5, guessing i could probably hit up the hardware store and get the same for way cheaper
shoulder harness i prefer the v, so its a single bolt in the back. crotch belt and right side are tabs and plates on the floor. the l/s use the stock belt anchor point.

I wrap mine around the bar. Its a pain in the *** to get them the right length but once u do it ur good to go. Make sure you do it right cause with enough pressure they will loosen. Also i do have a piece of 1/4 bar in the shape of a U so they dont slide around. Im pretty sure u need to have that but we alll know how some tech guys are.
if you have a seat like the recaro or sparco (just pulling names out) they cant spread.
not defending the nhra, playing devils advocate.
here is a link to what i used. the backing plates and eyelets both in short and long.
