Default CRX ebay exhaust, pretty nice

the UPS guy dropped this off today, i'm very impressed for $170 that I payed for everything (EBAY) exhaust and header, full stainless steel, the welds are great and everything was in great brand new condition, few dents on the muffler from delivery (I DONT CARE LOL). I will install all this when I get the chance, but the pipes I measured are indeed 2.5, and the tip is 4", the only thing it didn't come with is the catalytic converter so I got one from magnaflow, which I had to squeeze together which pulled the exhaust forward a little as seen in the video I have below, now that its on it sounds great, not like the classic raspy bumble bee civic but more like a d16 thats a little louder and a nice drone when easing off the gas. The fitment on the exhaust was pretty decent, bolted right on and almost sits against the body so it doesnt hit speed bumps.

overall I am very impressed with it, I got it off 4caroption on ebay

I bought the N1 exhaust off of ebay and paid I think 270, but the entire car rattle because the exhaust was a POS. I had to go to an exhaust shop and get a new muffler welded on and have them fix the exhaust cause it was literally hitting my chassis. Cost me 200 extra bucks! I'm never buying car parts off of ebay ever again. Never have I had a good experience. it seems like it's all cheap Chinese crap.

2.5" piping is a bit of overkill for a D16, isn't it? And that exhaust looks heavy as hell.

I'm not a fan of 4" tips on any 88-91 Civic/CRX. If it were mine, I'd reweld a smaller tip on it.

just ordered the same exhaust. I bought it cause for $115 shipped I can get the full cat back or for $135 I can get a mendrel bend exhaust that I need to weld together with no silencers or muffler. I will prob put dual tips on mine though and maybe paint it black

Nice exhaust man, and clean engine bay, I'm diggin it.

I just finished installing new full oem exhaust and an aftermarket stainless header. I've always loved the look of the stock twin tip muffler. The header is for that extra 50hp.

got a similar catback exhaust off ebay paid 160 shipped ( guess i got ripped lol) i cut off the tip and added a dual tip (like si tips) i have had this exhaust for like 3-4 years always get asked where i got it cause it looks so clean. the car get driven on the weekends and got a b16, but exhaust is pretty nice.

best thing to add is a 6 inch flex pipe right after cat, that way you wont have to deal with bad hanger postion ( due to ebay exhaust, will never fit "perfect" )

UPDATE: the exhaust has been off the car for awhile, failed our emissions standards, and rusted, also got headaches from the noise, not that it was loud im just easily bugged. Would I buy the exhaust again, probably not, but the header was the best thing I put on the car, it too rusted but it still looks better than the oem manifold and sounds a bit better, also looks alot cleaner. It is currently being used on the OEM exhaust.

I ended up doing the same thing, the exhaust made the fuel economy worse, backfired alot, and rusted. However a aem intake, ebay header, and OEM exhaust are the best combination you can have, you dont hear the exhaust but instead the headers and intake. Aswell you wont hear a cheap honda instead a nice d16, I do need a new oem exhaust at the moment

As said, 2.5" is way overkill for a stock-ish D16a6...heck, even a heavily modified one.

You could have painted it flat black with a good hi-temp paint and it might have stopped the rusting, but the ricey noise was always going to be there. The a6 doesn't sound good with an "open" exhaust.

The exhaust piping was great but that ebay muffler was a mistake, and next time I would probably just buy the actual painted header. But definately true
2.5" is huge on the stock d series. Its a good size for a boosted d series but for a stock d16 1.5-2" is best. Whenever I would go up a hill with that ebay exhaust you could step on the gas and you wouldn't go any faster you would just hear all the gas going out the exhaust. The only big exhaust that has a really good rep even though its big is the tanabe medallion. The Thermal R&D and greddy sp2 are huge. I highly recommend the stock bosal aswell as the hks
