Icon3 Determining ZC generation?

Hey I have a ZC in my '90 civic SI and the time has come to replace the valve cover gasket and I need a new wiring harness as the guy who installed it was a failure at life and caused me more grief than necessary.

Can anyone please let me know what generation ZC this is?
ZC 2213175

Thank you guys

The guy I bought the car from failed at wiring it and I need to basically rewire the entire engine.. Anyone know where I can get a kit? I have no experience wiring so I am taking it to a shop..

Does anyone know what OBD the civic is? (1990 Civic SI) it is "OBD 0 MPFI" right?
and the ZC is OBD O MPFI as well. So where do I go from here? Sorry trying to learn fast heh

>..< The shop I took it to said that it is the wiring.. plus when you look at it, it is the shittiest wiring job I have ever seen.
But the problems are as follows, and everyone is saying its electrical

"I looked back at the ecu, and it is throwing a few codes... (7 blinks - TPS) (8 blinks - TDC) (14 blinks - IACV)

Could this cause the car to bog out(It cuts out and will only rev to 2000 rpms untill I cut the power then it is fine, even whilst driving.) when and only when I floor it?

The car will randomly not start, something with the clutch, because if I slam it hard enough it will start sometimes

The car is running extremely rich.

There are no check engine lights."

don't know how they could screw it up - wiring for the DOHC ZC swap into the Si is about as simple as you can get - the only change needed is at the distributor - remove the round 7-wire connector from the Si engine harness and replace it with a rectangular 5-wire connector from any 88-91 DPFI CRX/Civic or 88-89 Integra or OEM DOHC ZC engine harness - just match the 5 wire colors on each side of the connection - obviously, if you are repalcing a 7-wire connector with a 5-wire connector, you will have 2 wires left over on the engine harness - they are blue with a green stripe and blue with a yellow stripe - add a short piece of wire to each of thes and extend them to the Cylinder sensor on the end of the exhaust camshaft, again matching the wire colors - everything else on the Si harness plugs right into the ZC sensors - you will have one connector left over which went to the Fast Idle Control Valve on the back of the Si intake manifold - just leave it not connected as the ZC doesn't have a FICV

your best bet is to try and find an uncut 89-91 CRX/Civic Si engine harness and start over - not an easy thing to find these days

most of your problems are due to the codes - the clutch switch could just need adjusting

Thank you so much for the reply!

Any ideas on the fact that I cannot floor it because it will bog down and wont come back up untill I restart?

probably the TPS (code 7) or it could be the TDC (code 8) causing the ECU to go into limp mode - only way to cure it is get rid of the codes - the code 14 may be because it has the wrong connector plugged into the EACV or could be low coolant level - the connector for the EACV is 2-wire with black with yellow stripe and blue with yellow stripe wires - the connector for the FICV (which you don't have) is just like the connector for the EACV except for wire colors - it also has black with yellow stripe and the other one is just solid blue (no yellow stripe) - easy to get them swapped

Time to throw back in the Integra ECU, was running the stock one trying to lean it out but no smoke, not much soot, and I can floor it :D

Suggest you pick up some heat shrink tubing and clean up the wiring mess - or you'll be back to this square again......
