This is the closest 1/4 mile for us guys in Little rock area.
Definately cant wait to see this happen and if they have this thing planned for a hopeful april opening then im definately excited.
Anyone on here plan on going to that track?
Cliff can you see about having an IFO there when they finish?

 

Most likely not. We've already tried that location back in 2004... very weak turnout, bad reviews :-/

There really haven't been many import/sport compact competitive cars built here for a while. Then with MMP being closed for so long, it really killed any prospects. The chatter is wild here though since the buy out and reopening, but only time will tell.

I'd LOVE to see another attempt at an import/sport compact race here, but it probably wouldn't get much local turnout until the track has been open a season or two and people are building again. Here it's Autocross and drifting really that has filled the drag racing void.

I am thrilled to have the track back, and already realize that test n tune nights will be the only racing the grassrooters will get.

Good news is that the track is on the IHRA circuit already, so there might be some hope for more in the future with the new management.

 

I love Memphis and that track. I went there for NMCA events since 97 and loved going every year. I went to that IFO in 2004 there and wish it could have been good enough to go back. Im glad to hear its reopening and hope they get some good events going there. That was a long time ago now so i wonder how the turnout would be now?

 

I would love it if cliff would have another Ifo there. It has been a long Ike since 2004 and I think the turnout would be much different now. The import scene has grown a lot since then. I guess we will just have to see with time.
