BIG coolant leak - Need Help
97 lx auto f22b2
So I have been leaking coolant like crazy lately. Anytime I drive I have to check the fluid level and always add coolant to the overflow tank and sometimes add coolant to the radiator.
I jacked the car up and as it was running I did not see any dripping/leaks. After I shut the car off there is a constant drip of coolant dripping off the automatic transmission. I've looked at the hoses and they don't seem to be leaking, nor does the thermostat housing.
So where is the leak coming from? I am going on a long trip in a couple days and need to get this fixed asap.
Sorry about the bad quality, I am at a friends garage and don't have my camera w/ me.

Two possibilities: 1) Heater hoses, especially where they enter the firewall/heater core; 2) If your car has an IACV, then there are some small hoses that circulate coolant around the area of the throttle body, and you need to check those also.
Do you have any pics/diagrams by chance?
Also, there is a puddle slightly to the left of the crossmember that is parallel to the exhaust (directly below the where the intake manifold is). I got directly under both leaks and shined my flashlight upwards but did not see any obvious signs.
Assuming I can't get back here in time to fix this, any idea as to how much a shop would charge?
Thank You

I also agree there is a good chance it is the heater hose. My previous 5th gen Accord which I gave my nephew, had a big leak several months ago. It was from the heater hose, the leak was from the hose under the distributor area.
My nephew brought his car to an independent shop and they charged him like $110 to change it out.

Agreed, you should see a heater hose running from the valve to the cylinder head. This is common, and especially likely to happen if your distributor is leaking oil. Oil gets on the hose and eats it up. Make sure to fix it if you have one there.
I think that is the problem b/c the hose is enlarged and I know oil saturates hoses. I guess ill have them check that out too and hope it isn't to much. Bah......not having a garage is the worst.
Also you might want to check the coolant pipe that is in the rear of the engine ... the o-rings can go bad in them. The best thing to do is get a cooling system/radiator pressure tester and test it at around 17 psi and then look for the leak. They range from about 40ish to well over 100 but this will save you a ton of headaches (p.s. it is what auto shops will use to find your leak for like 60 bucks!!)
