Good place to buy a lude tranny???
I am wanting to get a JDM H22A tranny since mine is on it's last leg (1st and 3rd going out). I have been looking at sites all day and haven't found anything really everyone keeps telling me "good luck" and "yeah right" ??? Anybody know where one of these is I can get on plastic?? I had a sale all lined up and then some bad stuff happened and it ended up falling thru and I still have no tranny. I'd prefer one with the factory LSD, but it's gonna get a quaife before the end of next year so it's not a "have to have" type thing.
thanks peeps!!!!
thanks peeps!!!!
call a bunch of junkyards. lude engines/trannys are hard to come by, but thats your best bet... no shipping, pick it up, put it in, youre done. plus, honda manual trannys are notoriously strong (except in your case, it sounds like), so mileage shouldnt be a factor.
well I have been using the f22 tranny and it just can't handle the power or the high rpm speed shifts...
I want a JDM one tho so salvage yards and junkyards won't work... thanks for the info tho!!!

I called like the first 28 pages of google results from searching for JDM importers...I got like 2 yes we have them, and the rest were just like yeah right or good luck finding one..??? They only one I found was for like 1200 before shipping. That's high in my book, it was LSD equiped, but damn that's still high in my book.

You might try giving R&D Motorsports a call. I bought a H22A4 top end from them a while back. Good price too. From the labels on the box, it looks like it came from Import Auto Salvage in Marion, SC , so you could also go direct I suppose, but I think R&D might have got the top end for less than I could have. I was also going to get a transmission at the same time, but they said that they took it apart and found a problem, so they couldnt sell it. Too bad too, I was going to get it at an awesome price.
Also try Honda Parts Connections in Atlanta, they have quite a few 4th gens (Si's mostly, some with transmissions and engines, but none of the VTEC models have engines or trannies), and a few 5th gens, but they do a lot of VTEC swaps so you have to move fast. They had a 5th Gen transmission for $750 or so a while back, but by this time I decided to just put the Quaife in my own gearbox instead of buying a used tranny to put it in.
