Installed Valve Seals on opposite valves should i put them back? intakeoexhaust ect
Bone head move! I KNOW IT, and yes i'm asking for your advice.
I have called everyone in my area with half a brain to ask it it really matters if they are on the wrong valves, and i have NO USEFUL INFORMATION FOR MY EFFORT! Apparently it takes a full brain to answer this question hahaha I was obviously at the 1/4 brain functional level when I did it hahaha
So with my son's help handing me the valve seals (I asked for intake and got an exhaust and vis versa, I should have checked.) I installed them opposite
I installed them drove it (couple hundred miles) I noticed it later when looking at the manual.
All I know is there is a black spring on the exhaust
And a white spring on the intake
They are IDENTICAL other than that
I am asuming that the exhaust side is designed to take slightly more heat, but other than that i can't imaging why I would need to switch them back, or replace them again?
So my options are this is on a D15b6
A leave them alone as is?
B swap them to there proper valves intake on intake ect...
C replace them for new ones
Thanks in advance Brian

you need to switch them back, probably get new ones, as you will most likely destroy them taking them off. does it run ok?
up to you. ifit isn't smoking and you don't feel like doing it, leave it be til it does smoke. which may be 20, 30k miles or more. it is all about the heat difference in the valve though and it will catch up with you.
It smoked before and i was hoping the seals would be the solution but it smoked the same after as before. I suspected all along that I would need to re ring it which is what i just did , now I'm deciding what to do before I put the head back on.
So it sounds like the difference is indeed all about heat tolerance? Thoughts?

not sure on the D, but B series intake and exhaust valves are slightly different sizes, means the seals are slightly different sizes. what i've read says if they are reversed, the larger intake will wear the seals faster, and the smaller exhaust may not seal at all. heat plays a very small factor.
don't know how you removed them, but all of mine were damaged in the process. new seals may be the best bet, GL
