new accord wagon member
hey whats up everyone. got a couple of questions for you all, I bought a 1991 Accord wagon for $1000 with a f22a1, auto.
first question, how can i get rid of the green flashing S in the instrument cluster? I've heard that it could be the little computer next to the main one.
it shifts smooth with no prob, all gears go in and the speedometer works.
question, it idles between 1000 and 1500 rpm, what could it be? i was thinking cleaning the AICV, FITV, and check for any vacuum leaks.
the accelerator cable is not that loose or tight either.
whats the purpose of the EGR valve? never had one.
now for the cosmetic
which front lip are you guys using?
which are the right side markers for 91 Accords?
is the front bumper interchangeable with the coupe, sedan?
are the tail lights interchangeable with the coupe, sedan?
all the answers might be there but I'm new to the Accord scene and i don't
know where to look. And its actually my wifes wagon not mine.
i got a 88 civic sedan. so you better go easy on me on this one.
is there any Accord wagon squad? in here H-T.

#2) Your on the right path, add checking/bleeding the coolant. Also while you are there I'd clean the TB.
Not sure of the exact question on the EGR, I'm sure you are not wanting the simple explanation of what it does or is used for.
Can't help with the rest....
Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve does what it says, it recirculates exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber, usually under part throttle cruise.
Recirculating gasses dilutes the fresh air/fuel charge into the combustion chamber. The main purpose of this is to reduce the combustion temperatures which will reduce the amount of NOx emissions. NOx gasses when exposed to sunlight creates what we physically see as smog pollution. NOx is one of the nastiest if not the nastiest of exhaust emissions.
The system is inactive at idle and at WOT. Only active during cruise or part throttle. There is no power lost or gained. If the system is to be rendered inactive you will most likely need to also adjust the timing tables, as the timing is often advanced to ignite the diluted mixture. Removing just the EGR system will cause pinging/detonation to occur.
A debatable advantage of EGR is that as an inert gas is added to the combustion chamber under cruise, it also acts as a filler. No need to constantly have fresh air and fuel. Thus it improves MPG, by not wasting fuel under cruise. As the engine only needs about 30HP to maintain a steady freeway cruising speed.
Personally, I would leave the EGR system attached and functioning.

decided to make another question and not making another thread.
so I've searched the firing order but all i see is different orders
can anyone tell me the right order.
this is how it is right now

Yes, 1-3-4-2....not sure what "the C is in #3" means or is asking? I've seen where there is an "A" on #1 on the cap or "hash" marks noting what cyl they go to.....can't remember seeing all of them numbered/lettered?
