well when i bought the car i bought it with a locked up motor. his sister ran it with no oil. theres a cheap carquest exhaust on it which is the biggest restrictive piece of crap that makes the car sound like junk. im basically looking to replace it so there's a power gain over the one on there now but more importantly a nice sound. im going turbo so just something to hold me over till then.

yeah that's a good point. hold off on exhausts and invest in brakes and suspension. ya know get the car ready to handle the turbo. thanks.

Find the muffler you like (style and sound) and run custom 2.25in cat back from headers and a basic high flow 2.25 resonator to quiet it down. just make sure the muffler has a 2.25inlet also. (the apexi world sport 2 verry nice tone and i think its 2.25 inlet) It shouldnt run too loud but when you run the turbo its gonna sound sweet and have great power gains before the turbo and after the turbo.

alot of people like the ws2 but i've heard varying tones from them dependent upon headers, etc, the headers on there again i imagine are cheap since i just reused the ones that were already on my engine with the car when i bought it. so if im looking at buying headers and a full exhaust system i might as well wait on the exhaust for the turbo kit and invest in suspension. idk that's my how i feel now that i've spent some time thinking on it.

i also hear that godspeed coilovers are half way decent for a new up coming company. i've purchased a clutch from their website (horrible experience) they sent the wrong part so im a little cautious about ordering anything from them. if someone knows a little more on those i'd appreciate it.

Whaat?? 2.25 is not gonna be good for turbo. even the all motor guys are going with 3in pipe now, never mind a turbo car

you need back pressure for a turbo. too much is just as bad as too little.

No you don't, no one needs backpressure

Our cars perform best with no exhaust restriction

as n/a. turbo spools off of exhaust flow. not enough pressure through the exhaust and your turbo wont spool.

Less restriction, more air coming out, more air going thru turbo, more the turbo spins, more air is forced into the intake, more power.

Common sense, but you can go ahead and use a 2.25 on your turbo setup if u want, let us know how it works

The myth use to be NA cars need some back pressure, but its just that, a myth
Never have I heard a turbo car need back pressure.

restriction creates pressure lack there of may create high flow but low pressure. which is why f1 motors use back pressure to increase scavenging which is why those engines run well over 100% efficiency on n/a set ups...using a 5in exhaust does not mean you make more power than a 4 in. 2.5 in is too small for either and no one said i was going to use that. you require a perfect balance of just enough flow and exhaust pressure to have a turbo run efficiently

You don't want any restriction with turbo

k teller 2.5" or3" piping kit for youre car. the biggest resonator that you can get youre hands on or 2 from like magnaflow or other reputable company. and a vibrant oval muffler will get you a nice deep sound and be quiet and look stealthy.
