how to separate auto tranny from b18a1?
I have to pull this motor if i want it but its out of a 91 acura integra gs 4 door and i cant get the tranny to separate from the motor.
i do belive the tranny is only connected to the flywheel but the flywheel wont turn at all. i had it in neutral so idk if that is the problem.
i did unbolt everything from the back of the motor that was connected to the tranny.

p.s. the guy im getting the motor from said this car came stock with a turbo. well there is no turbo now. i was just wondering if they came with stock turbos?

first: you make no sense. is the engine/transmission in the car or not? if it is, you need to take it out first. use and engine hoist if you have one at your disposal. if not, a strong reliable floor jack....not the one that comes with your car... can be used to support the motor.
make sure everything is unplugged and removed as far as wiring harness and coolant hoses. take off AC and powersteering. all that stuff. take the axles and intermediate shaft out of the transmission. take off all the mounts that hold the transmission and engine to the frame. should be 5 total. and pull the motor out.
second: the tranny is NOT bolted to the flywheel. the flywheels is bolted to the engine and the tranny casing is bolted to the engine with the flywheel/clutch in between. the flywheel isnt going to turn unless you turn the crank. you dont need to do that to take off the transmission. undo all the bolts holding the transmission to the engine and twist and pull until it comes off. you can probably use a big flathead screw driver to wedge and pry them apart. if you do make sure to do small amounts evenly around it so as to not bend the shaft inside.
finally: no turbo ever came on an integra. let alone any honda/acura until the RDX, to my knowledge. if there was a turbo. someone put it there.
i might have missed some stuff. do some research on here before you ask anymore questions. there are tons of threads from and FAQ's that should be able to answer 90% of question on here and honestly its faster than sitting and waiting for a reply. normally i would never have even left you an answer aside from SEARCH, but as its 2:30am and im bored i did. also go buy a Chilton or helms repair manual.
