Hondata S300: fuel system error code
Did not post in engine management because no one barely uses it and in the past I have got no results form posting there.
Okay here is the deal, I have a built gsr internals in ls block, stock ls head (but did it with b16 head as well). I'm on Hondata S300 with O2 disabled and pretty much everything disabled in the misc. tab.
The car runs great and has no problems....except when I start compression braking. Sometimes I will be driving and let off the gas and after about 5 seconds it throws a code 43 (i believe) I know its a fuel system error because that is what it says. The code clears when the car is started again and doesnt show until compression braking is seen again. I had a walbro 255 and it did it, since my turbo is off switched to the stock fuel pump and still compression brake and get the code. I was thinking fuel filter. The injectors are stock 240cc's out of an LS.
Just want to be able to compression brake without this code

Is there some benefit to compression braking? I ask because if not I would recommend not doing it. My uninformed contribution.
Is this a Hondata thing? Couldn't find anything about this issue anywhere except this but this was dealing with an S200 and a hesitation issue.

Maybe try starting a thread on the Hondata forums?

I could just call Hondata if I want to talk to them...was seeing if anyone had this problem.
Thanks for finding the link...but dont think it was too relevant. Ill wait to see if I get answers from here then post to Hondata/call them.
As far as the benfits of compression braking...Im quite aware the extra rpms creates wear on the components but really???? I have a built motor, tranny, etc...don't think it is going to kill me. As with most things, there are trade-offs for everything...but I feel the trade-off to compression braking is better than using my brakes up. I don't compression brake all the time; thus, this code doesn't always show on my cluster. Driving the car should allow use of compression braking without the CEL...so I want to figure it out.

i dont have an answer to the problem, but i used to get the same code under the same conditions. was not on s300 though, i think it was uberdata at the time. car drove fine and everything. never did figure out the problem
Just in case I forget to post results here is a link to the post on hondata:

From the site:
i´m also using the 70mm bdl tb, and it took a while, to set the overrun fuel cutoff that it´s working properly!
anyone think this would also cause it. Going to try tommorow

Normally code 43 is from a bad O2 sensor that's not bad enough to throw an O2 sensor CEL. But if it's not that it can be a royal PITA to trace.
innovative wideband sir. No regular O2 sensor. and it is properly disabled. The S300 says fuel supply error I searched for fuel supply error and it said code 43 so I posted that.
