Default 235s on a 6" wheel?

So I'm looking for some slicks/radials for the coming drag season, and have been seeing most everyone just goes right to slicks. Summit has the M&H Racemaster in a 235/60R14. They list minimum recommended wheel width of 6.5"
Can I put them on a 6" wide wheel? Reason I ask is because I can pick up some 14x6 steelies for 15 bucks.

Thanks,
Sawyer

just buy direct from M&H, you can ask them tech questions too

I believe they will give you a discount for being a member on here also

This thread is now about which tire should I choose for my GSR swapped EF. Full interior standard hatch. No A/C or P/S. Full exhaust and 3" intake. B16 LSD trans. Traction bars. Function and Form Type 1 coil overs. K-Sport LCAs.

I want people's EXPERIENCE with the BGF g-Force in 205/50R14 or MT ET Streets in 22x8.5R14/24x8.5R14. Going on 14x6 steelies.

Thanks,
Sawyer

Not much drag radial use these days. Especially in this forum.

But considering your modifications u dont need that tall of a tire. A 205 or that 22.5 will be he proper tire for what u have

Thanks for the response. From the searching that I did the valuable posts said that mostly stock guys are running a shorter tires.

Why don't people run radials anymore?

Well tire size/ height is all based on gearing, hp and how high rpm take it up to.

Just a GSR with exhaust and intake. B16 LSD. And I was launching around 6k on shitty street tires last summer. It redlines around 8200 or so and I shifted about 7500 or so.

22x8x13 will work. you dont want something thats too tall of a tire.

I just picked up some 14x6 steelies last night for cheap. Couldn't I just go for the 22x8.5 ET Streets?

Why is everyone suggesting 13s? Strictly because they offer the right size tire for a 13" wheel? And reason NOT to run the 22x8.5R14 ET streets?

That's a good tire, just not for a 6" wide rim.

i dont think they are really paying attention that you said you already have 14" wheels. 13" wheels are just more common when it comes to drag racing

the 22x8.5x14 (205/50/14) MT drag radial will work. they are a bit shorter than the stock tire but if its just for track use then no biggie. the 215/60/14 would probably also work. they are quite a bit taller than stock so you may run into more clearance issues depending on your ride height and wheel offset.

Its on coil overs and right now it sits with about 2 inches of clearance on 185/60R14s. I've only got an 1/8th mile locally to me so top speed isn't too big of an issue.
