Default So i go to work today and see a 92 prelude ... very bad suspension damage

I go into work and notice a 92 prelude there with one side both wheels about i would say +5deg camber and big time curb rash on both wheels. So i go inside and end up talking to cust and he is going to junk vehicle. Too much to repair with the sub-frame messed up now. Well the thing is this one has an H23 non-vtec in it with a new head, head gasket, water pump, timing belt. Bad thing is that its and automatic so it would require new IM. Now i have a 92 accord and i live in Cali and when i do a swap i want it BAR'd so if a cop pops my **** i am legal. How much is the prelude worth .... i would junk rest of car or sell it really cheap.

Thanks Honda Tech World

Well its the 160HP engine. Whats in the Accord now a ~130HP F22? Is 30HP really worth the swap to you? I would hold out for the 190HP H22. It just seems like a lot of work/trouble to have the car compliant when you could have a more powerful engine for the same amount of work.

The Prelude is only worth what it is in parts it seems, and even then its only worth parting out if you know you can sell the parts pretty quickly. Parting a car can be a PITA, if you do not have the time/room for it.

**** man, all you can use parts for 150, if i had the time and tools i'd do it too

use everything man, engine and tranny oughta drop right in!, switch out the ECU(read up on if you need the harness too [take it anyways!]) axels, hubs and brakes all that good ****,

take the radio too lol

**** maybe even you can do a brake booster/mastercylinder swap like we've done (DA bb/mc on EF)

Well there is problems ... It is and auto so i will run my F22a1 tranny till i get a new one ... but i like the gearing on my f tranny also so i don't really know. This motor has had a very recent head gasket (maybe new head by the looks - very shiny and block it dirty;normal), new distributor, radiator, water pump, timing and balancer belt. I was just out looking at it, do all h23a1's have the black box at the bottom of the IM with a couple vacuum hoses running to some little sensor or is for the auto tranny, and if so can i just block it off or do i HAVE to get manual IM? Other that that i just have to take off the kick-down cable for the tranny and that's it i believe. Oh also my research came up with p14 ecu (manual of course) am i correct.

Super Excited!!!

Thanks honda-tech members out there for all the excellent info you give everyone out in the world.

For $150 bucks, that is not bad at all.

Don't forget the speed sensor over the diff, the shift solenoids, ground cable(under the battery tray), and the shift cable on the backside underneath the transmission.

Don't forget to take everything that you can, and I do me EVERYTHING.
As 361 accord said axles, exhaust, hell take the AT for the time being, it has a slightly different gearing from Accord A/Ts. You may be able to sell it to someone for ~$200, hell you just made 50 bucks on your swap.
