turbo H22 questions HELP!!!!!!
Im new to the turbo seen and i picked me up h22 golden eagle sleeved engine, Crowler h-beam rods, decked, line honed, rods have all been balanced. Crank, flywheel and balancer need to be balanced at the same time. Head was ported and polished, oversized seats. Balancer shaft has been eliminated, port and polish is extensive but can always use more. now i want to make anywhere from 550 to 700 hp to the wheels or more
1. what piston would be best and compression ratio
2. what cams are best i was looking at the JUN 3 cams
3. injector what size (im lost at this point)
4. would an angle job on my heads be worth it
5. what size turbo would be good but still spool pretty fast

for the pistons i would go with mahle or wiseco, c/r depends on your setup but around 9.1, and the cams i would go with skunk2 and the angled valve job will only be worth it if you have after market cams other wise its not worth the money, inj. size depends on alot but with that power range 880-1000cc
you have to figure out if you want to to run race gas at some point. if not your limited to about 500 whp.
you will also have to upgrade the clutch to support more hp. so you should start by picking a target hp range and stick with it.
1. what piston would be best and compression ratio (wiseco shoot for 9)
2. what cams are best i was looking at the JUN 3 cams (skunk2 stage 1 or 2, not the turbo cams though, they are horrible)
3. injector what size (im lost at this point) (1000cc with an FPR)
4. would an angle job on my heads be worth it (no, an intake manifold would be a much better choice)
5. what size turbo would be good but still spool pretty fast (gt35r/sc62 will be nice, bigger for more top end but lag and low/middle will suffer) bigger for track but if you drive the car daily you won't be in boost very often, something to consider. h22 flows well so a gt35r, sc61, sc62 would all be nice choices.
alsoturbo manifold selection is key, don't get a log manifold, anything with a merged collector will work best.

thanks guys im going with a 9:1 compression ratio with either the wiseco or arias pistons not sure witch one have to still read up some more on them, now you say skunk 2 cams what about the pro series by skunk 2, now im going with a custom intake manifold but still thinking to go with a angle job thinking 5 degrees?? now i have the chance to pick up a ramhorn manifold but not sure if that is best but if any of you have a set of pistons PM looking for a set now
I can tell you what my setup is if that will help.
Base H22a4 at goldeneagle as we speak.
base 5gen trans
researching clutchs
cp pistons 10-1 cr (stock no low end loss)
eagle rods
garett 60-1 .82ar (top end power)
log mani til I can afford http://www.spoolinperformance.com/sp...2a22b89c353104
RC 750 injectors
tial 38mm waste , dump tube into exhaust system not atmos
tial bov
hondata s300 with boost control
head port and polished
valve train isnt decided
skunk2 intake port matched to head
skunk2 68 TB
head and main studs
Mishimoto intercooler and radiator with custom shroud dual 12 fans
My lude will be a daily driver. Goal is max 400whp no more then 15 psi
I still have more work to look at but I think it will be a good build

^ with that manifold and a FPR you'll be in the 450whp range around 17psi.
make sure you get a clutch that can handle the appropriate torque though.
------
head work like cams and such are only needed if you want more that 500whp and by then you need to think race gas

I will hook you up with a great deal on a G.E. INTAKE MANIFOLD if you want.
Our intakes can be custom ported and throttle body intake plate can be CNC cut to match your throttle body MM size to maximize air flow.
