Do cylinder leak down tests to pinpoint where compression is lost. My guess would be a bad head gasket with two adjacent bad cylinders.

That looks much better but the same 2 cylinders are still suspect. If it were me I wouldn't stop there. Did you do a leakdown test?

Did you do a wet compression test ?
Or dry ?

If not, try a wet test in #2 and 3 cylinders...
If compression rises, you need compression rings...

If not then continue with any other suggestions.
Hope everything works out.

here silky chemical leakdown tester

http://www.amazon.com/UVIEW-560000-C...7818167&sr=8-5

when you use it if the chemical turns a different color youll know if your headgasket is blown its somewhat pricey but they do work

Is your exhaust manifold cracked in the center?

Thats how my Dads D16 lost 2 exhaust valves on the highway. (in #2 and 3) Tho I bet its the gasket too..

Also, I think I got my LDT from Harbor Freight, for a couple 20s.

Drip a little oil into those 2 and re-test. Do it right before you test it.
