arp or golden eagle from reading on here seems to be most people torque to 80-84 ftlbs

power doesnt have anything to do with it though the amount of boost pressure does

100ft lbs is a lot! which studs are these? and on which head gasket?
probably warp the head doing that.

originally, a few years back, arp stated 65 ft. lbs. not it's 85 ft. lbs.

10-20 ft. lbs is a big difference.

80-90 ft. lbs is not a big difference.

Really?

Torque them ALL to 60 in your cross cross pattern (per the service manual)
when your done doing that, then torque them to 80 on the second torque step.

Why do you think your head is "lifting?" I read your other thread about your head lifting with arp studs and GE gasket. Clearly you have some other issue that expensive cosworth parts aren't going to fix. I would look at other things like correct torque on the correct studs, clean and flat head and deck, clean headgasket installed CORRECTLY, and use molylube. Is the tune junk? Did the headgasket blow twice from knock? Just my .02

ok so i make less than 600hp but will be in the 500 range after i tune. i used the arps and a golden eagle 84mm vtec gasket.

i do it in 3 steps, 25/50/80ftlbs with the arp moly lube.

check that timing if you keep lifting heads, either in the map or at the distributor

you probably just answered part of the problem for us, you overheated the engine and probably warped something in the process... take the head to a machine shop that has a straightedge and check it... might not hurt to check the deck too.

how many times have you torqued your studs?

what are the symptoms? burning coolant? mixing oil?

The head and/or block is probably warped. Or overheating it cracked something. I would just buy new studs and headgasket and have the block and head check for cracks and flatness. Cut the head and block if needed.
