Ok im hearing alot about this so called $50 Paintjob. Now im thinking about doing it cause just wanting the car to look a little bit better i dont want to spend that much just to make it a different color. I just basically want to paint it because i had just gotten done with the body work an if i can do this 50 dollar job an it still look ok an a little shine then im happy. My question is what all do i need an what would be the best place to get the stuff for it. An lastly if i were to barrow a buddies paintgun would that help? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any future replies.

 

Go to Walmart and get the paint and sandpaper
Borrow your buddy's (hopefully cheap) gun or get a $25 HF gun.
Clean it when you're done.

Tada! The hardest part about painting anything is getting a paint booth (or building some shanty), getting your heap to the paintbooth, and prepping ****. The actual paint application only takes a little bit.

 

Theres so much info out there on google alone, so for you to ask this question just has fail written all over it. Come back with some specific questions....maybe questions like xxxxx product vs. xxxxx product. I painted my lexus using a few google searches. GL im subscribed.

 

It seems like the more I read this forum, the worse it gets. Everyone wants to mod their cars, but they have no patience or anything to do stuff right. This forum is becoming depressing.

I have actually changed my mind an now i have decided to paint the car either Fiji Pearl or Royal Blue pearl but i dont know the code for them but every time i find it idk if it is right because it says clearcoat at the end of it anyways they are on the 07 civics. So if anyone can tell me what the code of these paint colors are i would be very happy. an if so how much it would be for a gallon of those colors.

 

clearcoat is clear bud, its not colored. If you see clearcoat next to a name of a color it means that it is two part paint: a basecoat and topcoat or color then clear.

 

Ok thanks man I just go the paint yesterday an put it on the hood an it came out amazingly its looks like blue candy type color. so ill post some pics as soon as i can find the camera lol.

I dont know if oyu have one but a napa auto body store an it was $79 per quart not to cheap but i had everything else so im pretty happy lol

 

Its called bridgeport auto but it has a napa sign on it lol never understood that lol.

yep but the color didnt look good so i switched again lol when i put the first part on the the top coat then the clear on it looked different in some places lol. so i sanded it all down an switched to an easier color lol. I chose a bubble gum blue lol. an so far it looks amazing ill put pics up as soon as i am finished lol. i painted the hood an the trunk but i have some body work to do on the drivers door lol.
