So I was washing my engine bay and forgot that I hadnt plugged up the holes in the firewall where the fuse box and heater core use to be and that my ecu was right below that..i didnt soak it but it did get slightly damp. But I didnt realize that until after I tried to start the car and nothing. All electricals came on but it wouldnt turn over or even click. I push started it and the VAFC was freaking out. It wasnt resetting but the screen is flickering really fast to the point to where you cant read anything on it. It ran like **** and threw a code. I went to check the code doing the loopback method and it didnt blink correctly but rather flickered and blinked..So i cant tell what code it is. My first thought is that the ECU was fried so I threw in another P28 and its doing the exact same thing. So it seems to me something is shorted out..but where to start is the question.

 

You've got a short or a bad ground somewhere. You're going to have to wait until everything dries out.

Or, you may just have a poor battery terminal connection or a dead battery.

 

Its been a few days so everything is dried out and the battery is good. Im trying to pinpoint where the short would be to save me time

 

So I unwired the VAFC and im still having the same problem. I turn the key and only hear the main relay click so im assuming that could be the problem. Testing the main relay tomorrow
