Default Exhaust leak--issue

Ok well when i replaced my rack and pinoin i had to take out the exhaust pipe that
connects to the headers. its 4-2-1 and well the leak is coming from in between 4-2.

When i was putting the pipe back on i could not find the gasket that went in between, except for majestic honda but...80$ for a gasket...my morals wont let me..

Anyway here's a pic of what i did...

It was not as quiet as before, and now its LOUD AS ****. So i'm thinking i messed up, or are there better ways to make gaskets? Are there supposed to be O rings instead? I'm not sure

You can't make an exhaust gasket out of cork gasket material.
From the looks of your header it takes 2 ring type gaskets best idea is to take lower pipe to parts store and match the gaskets or if not take pipe in and get a exhaust gasket similar to the one you tried to make.

lol yea I tried that at autozone when i went hunting for it. The guy couldn't find any that fit, they then handed me the cork material, figured it was better than nothing. Would like a more permanent fix. I'll try at Napa or advance see what happens.

If i try to make one again what kind of material would you suggest? If anything I could just go to Lowes pick up some material and measure out some rings and fit them in.

Fyi: I have DC sport headers, and pretty sure the 2 pipe is oem. The rest of the exhaust is a Frankenstein build sounds great when its not leaking.

I think I used some RTV Orange sealer when I put my header on. Mine leaks from somewhere else though haha

the best gasket I have found that work quite well are Remflex. I have that same type of header and they do sell a gasket that size. They don't need to be torqued down all that much to make a good seal. They are quite thick too.

just google it.

I found it yes its $27.99. Shipping was gonna take a while so i ended up making my own lol. It took a while to find descent material, I ended up going to ace hardware and they pointed me to Napa. I bought a sheet of gasket material, two layers of the gasket material and I believe aluminium in between. $10 for a sheet and heres what i came up with:

Yeap its working pretty good, reaaally quiet just the way i like it
nows a test of how long it will last
