Default IAC valve 98 CRV

Hello I have a 98 crv in good condition with 245k kms on it. I am sometimes having high idle problems same as this below.
http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/...read.php?t=462
My question is can I use carb cleaner instead of throttle body cleaner to clean the IAC valve (Idle Air Control valve). I am in saudi arabia and they do not sell throttle body cleaner here. Only thing available is carb/choke cleaner. I do not want to damage anything like sensors or engine. Any idea.

Shoot! Ive use cleaning brake fluid! Just make sure its nicley air dried, and u should be good. Also, for high and eradic rpm surges, I reset the base ignition and ignition timing. Just fallow the proceedure in the haynes manuel or look up DYI write for this procedure.
Peace in da Middle East my brother!
