I just got a 93 civic coupe in a deplorable state and wanted to find out how to replace the glass in the roof with OEM. I couldn't find any info and eventually I figured it out. Thought I'd share with some pictures with the forum and a DIY.
Tools needed:
Allen Key 5mm
Socket style Allen key 5mm
3/4 Ratchet
Windex
Towels
Hammer
Various other allen keys
vice grip
First tilt the roof in the Civic. I had to wire up the charge harness first since the guy did some lame trunk battery relocation that looked like sh** didnt trust it and put it back to OEM.
Next note the six 5mm allen socket screws on both sides of the roof connected to sliding rails.
Remove these screws, one of mines was stuck. The head stripped out of the allen key for some reason so I used the hammer and a larger allen key and hammered it in. Then I used the Vice to grip it and remove it. I did not take a picture of that because I was too busy ragging the allen screw. -__-
Then clean the new glass piece and ready to reverse removal instructions:
Now just close the roof and see if it fits. My gasket is kind of worn out and got stuck on the roof, a little push got it in! And bam your done !
Easy job but for all my honda-homies that <3 oem here you go!
Ill be posting a wire tuck and a DIY paint and body and trims and various stuff for this car since I am going to re-do most of it !
Hi Merry Christma And Happy New Year.
Since My JDM Eg9 Sunroof Flew away.... Long Story. I was Wondering USDM EJ1 Sunroof Glass will fit JDM Eg9? Thanks
thanks for reply. Now I'm asking to a seller and waiting for the reply. Actually I need is the glass if the mounting is different wouldn't bother me much. My friend says the EG6 and Eg9 sunroof glass is the same layout only 2 different mechanism. I really hope someone can confirm the Integra 4 door sunroof glass can fit eg6.... and it can fit eg9. thanks
I'm literary only here to say thanks to the original poster (@VinhTEC) for this information. 10 years later and still relevant huh haha. I've just swapped out my own sunroof in my RA. Some little tid bits for those that are interested. The Civic (EG) sunshade and runners absolutely do not fit as they interfere with the rear AC control units (cant recall if that was previously touched on here or not?). The entire frame from a Civic (minus the runners for the sunshade) appeared to fit at a glace (held mine up in the hole etc) and the glass roof sits nicely in the hole. That is to say; from the inside looking up; you can barely tell its not a factory option. I had my liner pulled off for my sunroof and the gap(?) between the liner and the actual sunroof wasn't great. Which was of a great concern when I eventually found a glass roof to swap into.

For a long winded version of what I managed to complete and find; refer to below (pulled directly from my own build thread posted else where) but again; thank you everyone for this GREAT little life hack

Sun was beaming yesterday and I had the help of our local aficionado @BCHDAZ and ever-growing enthusiasm of @_ethrty-andy_ at my disposal. Ventured up to PaP, found the RA with the sunroof, continued to cream my pants at all the goodie of a "facelift" model then continued to pull the sunroof out as well as the rear AC control unit. Fairly simple follow you're nose type stuff (Y)
With the unit out and the headliner pulled down we could begin to eyeball if the Civic frame would fit with the sliders for the sunshade. It didn't look promising but why would I go all this way only to walk away thinking of what if. Shoved the Civic frame into the hole which was ever so slightly different mounting wise (the front support was different from memory but also has a map reader light whereas the Odyssey does not) but technically would fit if not for the additional rails going out the back for the sunshade as this would hit the AC Controls.
With everything on the ground though I took the opportunity to see if the panel from the Odyseey was indeed the same size as the Civic glass. At first glance I was second guessing myself but here are
Happy with our findings we packed up and shipped out. The lady's face as I wondered back into the yard with my Civic sunroof and frame was priceless: uuuuurgh, you're wanting to do what?
Back at home and with less heat from the afternoon we got about swapping over just the panels. As the Honda-Tech post suggested; its just a matter of 6x bolts to pull out then in reverse to get it back in. One thing it didn't show however was the fitment of the glass from inside. My interior cover (which is just some chipboard covered in fabric) had stains (:giggidy and was also pulled out in frustration after it decided to fall out. The result of which left you with this:
Its not bad but its certainly not pretty. My worry was that there'd still be a sizeable gap between the glass and the roof liner(?) Turns out though - that can all be dismissed because the thing looking bloody awesome with just straight glass!
Granted the runners are silver which, if it bothered me that much; I'd just shot them black but overall. HOW GOOD! Yes - that's glass over the hole :rawb: To demonstrate a bit more; here's the sunroof slightly opened
View from the top is absolutely bang on as well. Old
:rawb:
The fitment was surprising easy with only a few minor push here, pull there to realign the bolts and everything seemed to go in fine. I did however quickly notice that it leaks in the drivers corner however I'm guessing this is due to a partially blocked drain hole as I recall it did this with the old roof too. When it was gushing like a certain mega squirt, I was blasting the absolute **** out of it with the hose. Buuuuuuuuut that's future Charlies issue. Will likely just pull the head lining down around that corner and blast the drains to try and clear them. When sitting in the car you can hear/see that area pool with water before it finally burps itself and clears.
In other news too however; while I was paroozing PaP I brought myself a chin spoiler. Same colour too (Y)
Wasn't immediately after one but when you've got Andy sitting there saying: You won't haha. I had to at least see what they'd charge me. In the end I think its was around $16. Granted I've got the nudge bar on too; I'll likely just cut this spoiler in half and just use the sides as not to interfere with the nudgebar. Great score and even better success (Y)
