Default bseries obd1 vs obd2 alternator

Is there a difference in the alternator brackets...either the top or the bottom bracket in an obd1 vs obd2 motor. I know the alternators are different but are the brackets different. Reason I ask is b\c I have an obd2 motor and am putting an obd1 alternator on the motor but it doesn't seem like the holes line up to the bracket.....

If it is different I'll just probably cut the wire from the obd2 harness and wire it into to the obd1 harness to be cost efficient and save money on buying an obd1 alternator

the brackets on b series motors for alternator are the same, and so is the alternator s when it comes to physically fitting. as far as the connectors go, they are diff obvioulsy, if it s not fitting maybe it a d series alternator, the easiest way to tell is, on a d series the top tab on alternator has threads in it, and on b series it s straight thru (non threaded)

hope this helps, typin fast while at work
