LSD AXEL SHAFT PULLED OUT and seal leak
Hello everybody,,I will try to make this ASAS. I have adjustable Tokico coils and Eibach springs,,I know it might be a pothole as I did hit a few but,,,,is it possible that I lowered the car too much and the right drive axle pulled out about 1/2 inch from the trans.I thought left one would do the same.I raised the car higher but it did not help.,,I also noticed more tread wear on the outer side of the same tire..left tire is fine. I have stock control arms and no sway bar,,,only upper strut bar,,,
no the axle did not come out. it may be busted but it didnt come out. also did you get an alignment after you lowered your car? if not thats why your tire is wearing like it is.
happens quite a bit, i doubt its too low, there is a clip on the end of the shaft that goes into the gearbox, make sure its still there, it should take a bit of pressure or a shove to make the inner cv sit into the box, if it slides in and out too freely replace the clip, also check and make sure you didnt damage any splines on the shaft!
thanks for that man,,,so your saying there is a clip at the end that means if it goes all the way in it will snap right,,,it does slide in and out a bit,,I do not drive the car as I don't know if I have any trans fluid left in there,,I will have to remove the ball joint nut first right,,,and than the axle nut and it should slide out ???
yea the clip is what holds it into the diff!
you can prob even check it without removing the shaft from the hub, there should be enough movement in the inner cv for you to check it!
just jack up the car, grab the inner cv joint and if it can slide in and out of the diff casing without much effort, then your clip is either bad or broken!

what I worry about the most is ,,,if the clip is broken will I be able to pull it out of the trans,,because you said its on the end of the shaft right,,,that means right now its stuck in the trans,,,
