Default Mounting the V-AFC in the Glove Box

Well Guys, I may be new to this forum but I wanted to share with the group that I decided to mount the V-AFC in the Glove box and that it looks great. It may be too far for some but I like to keep my car as a sleeper when I am challenged to a race. I plan to also put my gauges in the glove box and have them angled towards me. If you have any suggestions let me know, and if you have any other areas as alternatives let me know as well. Thanks again...............

John,
I mounted mine underneath the radio after modifying the pocket assembly underneath the radio.. (you saw the pics) thats another alternative to mounting it in the glove compartment if you have the patience, a six pack of beer and a dremel... I took the pocket assembly (which has a little door) and modified it using the dremel to fit the prelude.. then mounted the VAFC inside the the pocket assembly. and put it all back together.. if you take your time and do it right it comes out looking great... and in my opinion its better than having it in the glove compartment.. You want to give it a shot? let me know.

That's a great idea because you can lock the glovebox to prevent theft.

Thats one of my main reasons why its there is to deter theft from my car. The Prelude is in hot demand even though it has been discontinued.

well its not under lock and key as it would be in the glove box, but it is hidden from prying eyes.. not to mention that if they really want your car, or whats in the glove for that matter i dont think the little lock that comes with the glove compartment is going to stop them.. lol.. here are some pics: (hope this works, i have never posted pics before so this will be a learning experience for me..) le me know what you guys think..

Well, I think it has it's advantages and disadvantages...Yeah you can lock the glovebox from theft, and you can get a pretty clean install inside too. Plus it would just look cool However, by doing that, you sacrifice some storage for documents, etc by filling up that space, and since it's that far away, it would be more of a hazard to be glancing at your passenger floorboard from time to time on the street...it'll be a habit to glance at it, everyone does, lol. I think LordVtec has a really clean and feasible install going, you should consider it IMO. The closer your gauges and controller readouts are, the better, because checking gauges can be very important at times, and they need to be easily accessible in quick situations.

nice... i guess it become a matter of preference... i mean with my luck i think i would probably wreck my car while trying to looking at the glove box all the time.. but in a car show i am sure that kind of set up would earn you some points if you are into that sort of thing... very creative dude...

I love how you hid those LordVtec. Hope you don't mind if I rip off your idea But I don't like having my vafc velcroed next to my instument cluster.

Dude feel free to use the idea.. the reason for posting the pictures was to share information among HT-members.. besides i assure you that i wont take any offense to you using the same technique seeing as though i myself borrowed the idea from someone elses set up... it just took some patience and planning, but it worked out for the best..
