Went through big puddle..died and no start
Freind of mine was driving home and came upon a big puddle covering the whole road. The engine died and will turn over but doesnt start. No water was sucked into the engine so we started checking spark and fuel. Fuel pump primes and their is spark. Just for the sake of trying we sprayed starting fluid into the tb and it ran untill I stopped spraying it. The only thing I could think of is that their was a piece of ice in the water(warm day in Maine) and it pinched a fuel line. I took the fuel line off the fuel rail and it flows out. Any way to check it the injectors are working? Does someone make something to check fuel pressure?
First thing that came to my mine was Hydrolock but Motor turns over so no worries.
Battery could of got wet or alternator?
Well i remember one of my friends made something that he pluged in to the Injectors and it pumped some fuel injector cleaners threw it. and that kinda determines if they work or not.

Yep he's right happened to my brother inlaws em1did the same thing would turn over just wouldnt fire up .take the spark plugs out and use a Turkey bayster and suck the water off of the top of the piston the you could use an air blower if have an air tank thats wat worked for us.

Check to see if the injectors are getting power by unclipping the injector harness and using a "noid light" test each one or get a mechanical stetoscope (can't see why a medical one would'nt work) and they say you can hear the clicking of the injectors if they are working properly.

There is a recent thread where RonJ advised how to check continuity all the way to the ecu (which wires and components to check) if you are uncertain about getting a ground signal from/to the ecu from injectors, sorry I can't rememer which one
check compression, i know you say it didnt take in water but its just best to check!
the other thing that springs to mind is, if it took in a small bit of water, and the pressure stalled the crank, it could have skipped timing on the belt, it could still fire on the starter spray anyway!
how does it sound spinning over? does it sound fast/weak?

Looks like i need an adapter to screw it into the fuel filter with it still attached to the fuel rail and disconnect the fpr vacume hose
a few years back I drove my accord through a rather large puddle after a flood and she died midstream. so I pushed her back out of the puddle and she would crank but couldnt start. happened to notice that it was spraying water out of the exhaust when it was cranking. basically, the exhaust had filled up with water and it couldnt start.
Run a Compression test, that way you are going to have to check the sparkplugs and i would check all your grounds while your at it. And as said before make sure you are running in the low 40's for fuel pressure. As far as the Ecu go you can check to see if you blew any fuses. I would start there
If you unplug the main relay and jump terminal 1 (Yel/Wht wire) or terminal 5 (Blk/Yel wire) to terminal 7 (Yel/Grn wire) in the main relay plug, do you hear the fuel pump run?
My freind jumped the gun and bought a 255 pump and it didnt help. I looked through the civic manual and ir says the injecter are controled by the CYP in the dizzy. It said the test the pins at the dizzy and they should be between 350-700 ohms My meter reads 330. Does this mean its bad?
