why tha **** is crx waistin more gas tha a v8? wtf!
i just bouht a 90 crx si.. it had a blown d16a6 i replaced it with tha same kind of motor..it had a pwo ecu in it..wat i heard is tha its a ef-9 b16a 8k rpm red line vtec ecu..which im waitin to replace it with a regular obd0 pm6 ecu cuz i dont want 8k red line and dont have a vtec head..i have tha car runnin with a greddy exhaust and a aem intake and that *********er wastes hella gas!! could it be tha ecu? ****ed up cat? tha intake? and i could smell gas through tha exhaust..smells rich as ****!.can u guys could help me out with some ideas on what's wrong with my crx and on how to fix it thanx!
First of all get the proper ECU, the PM6, and THEN see if it's still using a ton of gas. That PW0 ECU is undoubtedly going to cause a rich condition, which in turn will likely foul your spark plugs (causing less spark), can damage your 02 sensor, and even ruin your cat converter if its running pig rich.
Besides the obvious fuel/timing parameters being different you are undoubtedly running in "limp mode" on that PW0 ECU because it is lacking various inputs from your D16A6 such as VTEC solenoid/pressure switch, knock sensor, etc. Limp mode will run even richer than usual to try and keep the engine safe from detonation, etc. so on an already-rich condition it's even more rich.
Cliffnotes:
- Get the right ECU
- Swap spark plugs, check other tune items such as valve adjustment, cap, rotor, wires, air filter, etc.
- THEN tell us if its still running rich

it has new everything..
plus the ****in car has 2 plugs comin out of the ecu which dont connect to anythin on the d16a6 , not sure which pins yet but i think it had a b swapped in it before.
and i just have the o2 sensor hangin, i know that might be another reason but i cant find where to connect it to. the cars wiring was all rigged up the ***. it doesnt have the stock fuse box under the hood. it has a different one.
where can i connect the o2 sensor if i cant find the original connection plug?

hey i fixed it, not sure what it was.i stilll have the same ecu (PWO). i changed the resistor box, plugged a lil vaccum line on the firewall that the inside of my hood said needed to be plugged. and it runs better tha it did before and it does waste all the gas that i used to waste. it doesnt smoke all nasty nor smell rich as ****.
2 days ago i tried my buddys pm6 ecu and it would burn out the ecu fuse..
