Need help w/alignment and height adjustment
Hello all,
I recently purchased a 95 EG from a fellow board member and the car right now has a function and form suspension on the car.
I need to get the raised up, when he put the 99-00 Si stocks on the car it basically tucks the rear and the front is real close to that. It doesn't look bad, but i'm a little older now and would like to make it a sensible height, I know with that I would need to get it aligned.
I would only like to raise the rear up a 1"-1.5" and the front prob 3/4's-1"
He told me that in order to do that I need to "loosen the bottom piece of the suspension and spin the lower red piece of the coilover"...
I asked if he meant at the bottom of the strut and he said yes, but I want to make sure i'm on the right track here because this is my daily and I don't want to jack anything up. So my question there is that basically it? Jack the car up, take off my wheel and spin the coilover? Will it spin freely or does it click for certain increments of settings? Is it straight forward?
It's been a while since i've worked on a vehicle so be patient with my lack of mechanical aptitude haha.
Also, for the alignment, he says the car has a camber kit, so i'm guessing that's a plus, but should I get the alignment shop to raise the car since they will be under there anyways?
Or is this something I need to do on my own before giving it to them?
And what is a recommended camber setting that I could give to the alignment shop before they go forward with what they need to do?
I appreciate all of your help, sorry for the newbness, I just want to make sure it's all done right : )

If the alignment shop will even touch the height adjustment they will charge you a nice chunk for it. Go jack up your car, take the wheel off, and take a picture of your suspension. If it's just the standard coil overs you will just spin the "nut" piece that raises the car.

see the shiny silver thing under the bottom of the spring? that is the part you will turn to raise your ride height. the further it moves up the coilover sleeve, the higher the ride height.
as far as alignment settings, i'd go with stock. or, 1.5 degrees negative camber all around, and stock toe settings. others will tell you to zero the toe - but i've never had issues with stock settings.
if you are driving it on a track, then you can go pretty radical. for street, stock or the 1.5 degrees neg camber will work...
