98 GSR injectors in 95 GSR
I just tried to install some 98 GSR injectors in my 95 GSR motor....I had H22 290cc injectors there before. Trying to swap some regular GSR injectors in there, cause I'm still breaking in the motor. I modded the plugs on the 98 GSR injectors and I got them to plug in. The problem is that the motor now fluctuates from like 4000rpms to 2000rpms at idle. I'm running a chipped P28 ECU now and when I had the H22 injectors it was idling real good. I don't have any codes. What could be wrong? Thanks

those injectors were never ment to be put into that year of car. Does anyone ever research stuff anymore? 98 injectors are saturated, and i believe '95's are peak and holds. I don't think you shorted out the ECU...290cc prelude injectors? that means they are '97+, which also means they're saturated......

Anyways, 94+ integra injectors are all saturated. If you got them to plug in they will work fine. Your problem must be somewhere else. If the ECU is chipped to run 290cc injectors, you will need 290cc injectors in the car. 290cc is just the flow rate at 43psi fuel pressure... the ECU controls actual fuel delivery.
Try to reset the ecu. If the motor is freerevving up to 4k rpm, the problem is definately not with the injectors. Check IACV wiring or a vacuum leak the size of your fist......... Or is your idle just surging?

... also, try retarding your timing... i used to run a mugen chipped p72 when i was all-motor and i had to retard timing on the distibutor because the chipped ecu's timing was to advanced and the ecu ((in closed-loop)) would try to compensate by dumping more fuel ((so that it wouldnt lean out))... just a thought... that is what i did to smooth out the idle...

Got the injectors working today.....turns out I forgot to put the big rubber gromet on the bottom of the injectors and had a mad vaccum leak. Works great now. Thanks everyone. And to Graphite....you just got OWNED!!!
