Default Put VX Motor Into Newer Honda

Anyone have any experience with putting your Civic VX drivetrain into a newer or different Honda??

Also any ideas on what to do with a blown vx motor sitting in my house??

You can only do an engine swap involving an engine of the same year as the receiving vehicle or newer.

Rebuild the blown engine.

You definately can do this swap, but the legality is questionable at best. I'm told it's a federal law, most states don't enforce it though, if you don't have emissions testing then you can definately get away with it.

VX gear ratio are very long. So expect it to be slower.

I'm sure you can and many people do. Just like you can rob a bank. It's against the law. But if you can get away with it kudos to you. If you can't...

The difference being that cops tend to actively go after bank robbers, illegal engine swaps? Not so much (unless you live in California)

I like the vx swap i have it in my 94 dx hatch, but it is slow but not as slow as some people think it can keep up with traffic, and drives like a normal car but maybe because i dont have the 5 wire o2 sensor at all,so im not getting the slow lean burn mode people talk about mine feels kinda faster than i thought it woud be im getting a street tune and deleting my o2 sensor next week and im running a p28 btw.

But as far as putting it in a heavier newer civic i dont think it would be worth it. 92 hp 2700 pound ek might strain it lol i think it was meant to be in a max 2200 pound car
And the tranny is odd the rpms are at 2000 at 60mph in 4th gear
But i like it since im not a street racer anymore it disciplines me lol
