Ok.. so heres the story...

I did a head swap i had a D16y7 did a d16y8 head swap.. And i got it to run.. This is my first OBD2 car but any way so i got it to run but it idles fast... Between 1500 and about 1600.. So i blew the motor up after a couple months and i ordered a D15B put it in and it still idles like that I know it has sumn to do with the intake mani. I been trying to figure it out past couple weeks when it caused a accident in the snow( i was tryin to drive slow but i couldnt cause idle was giving it Gas) so now i was like **** it imma try to


Tryed Map sensor because When i unplugged it it didnt make a change at all nothing changed idle didnt do nothing diffrent so i took map sensor off and plugged it with my finger it Idled normal.. It idled at 1k but didnt jump...
So replaced the map sensor and then it still idled fast but when i unplug it now it will stop for a second...

ANd i fliped Plugs like the TPS plug wit map sensor and it idled normal but couldnt give gas..



Codes are Pressure switch, Knock sensor(which my old motor didnt have)



Sorry for long message just tryed to explain the best i could online....

PS i dont think it is a IACV cause it idles Fast Thinking its Fast idle valve dunno though
PSS I forgot to say i swaped out the Y8 throttle body with the y7 one so ic oujld use the stock clip

Did the Y8 head come from a 99-00 Civic, which has the fuel injection air system? Check the FAQs sticky. Engine>Air Intake and Idle Control>last link

 

No it was a 97 n i will check that thanks

 

If the Y8 head is from a 97 Civic, check whether the throttle cable is adjusted too tightly. It should have about 1/2" of free play.

 

I blew that motor up ther a d15b in there with the y8 intake manifold now.. soit gotta b sum on the mani
