93 Vtec with 257K miles on it. Ive only owned it for 1k of those so not sure about previous maintanence history.

Was having idle surge on initial start when engine is cold. Removed and cleaned the FITV which took care of the problem. Idle seems to be fine during engine warm up and after i have been driving.

The problem i am having is only on cold start. The engine sounds like it is struggling, and then when it turns over it sounds rough during the start. After the engine is warm, i have no issues with restarting. It starts fine, and idles fine after that.

It is not throwing an engine code so i am not really sure what is causing the issue. Helms says possible coolant sensor, TDC sensor, or MAP sensor, but it also says if not showing a code for it, it probably isnt the issue.
