Cluster identification... whats this from?
Just bought a gauge cluster I really like and kinda at a loss for indentifying what this cluster is from. LOL. Thought I knew what it was but then no mph markings and the 8k rpm max are throwing me off. Lights up amber btw.
jdm cluster, from a civic, but one of the lower models (ex)

Kinda what I thought as well, but those all have small mph inner markings from my understanding and mine does not... only Km/h.

Come on now... I am not that dense... I know its not a USDM cluster and thus why it is marked with Km/h, your misunderstanding when I talk about being in Km/h.
I am saying it shows ONLY Km/h markings, which struck me as odd, 95% of the clusters I have found closely matching to this one will have also small seconardary gray mph markings inside the Km/h markings as well... IE like the similar cluster ekblackcoupe linked to.
Which being marked in only Km/h made me wonder about its exact origin model is.

LOL, I bought it cause I like it more than where its from or anything... just curiousity after the fact that had me wondering why slightly different than most ones I have seen.
Everything is for sale for the right price though as the saying goes.

Exactly the same as the one out of my '99 LX but in km/h. I think EDM clusters have mph and km/h, so I'd say it's JDM. I've never seen one of these before though, I bet they don't normally export clusters out of anything but the sport models (SiR/Type R/RS).
It looks like a lower end JDM market cluster, notice the tach redline at 6800rpm. EDM clusters typically read in both mph and km/h, but not always. Closer pictures of the glyphs in the cluster could help identify it's market. I.E. CEL, hazard, cat. warning indicator, etc. But my money is on it being on the JDM equivalent of our EK LX/DX.
Thats true too... didnt think about that really. Could be SE Asia orgin, which would make sense for the no mph secondary markings.
Part of why I like this cluster is it being their equal to the EX model cluster here, since I have an '00 EX w/ d16y8. Will be a nice replacement for my auto cluster since I am auto to manual swaped. Auto cluster is annoying me. Km/h and amber backlighting will give it a little flavor over a normal EX manual cluster I figured.

From what I am seeing looking at different threads 220Km/h reading clusters are often CDM. But this is not a CDM cluster, no small inner mph labeling which Canadian clusters seem to all have.
So much fail in this thread.
School time for some of you!
School time for some of you!- Cluster is not JDM because those speedos only go to 180km/h
- Cluster is not CDM b/c those DO have inner mph markings
- Only EDM clusters from THE UNITED KINGDOM (ie., Great Britain, so "UKDM") have outer mph markings and inner km/h (like USDM)
- Continental EDM clusters (Germany, France, etc) have ONLY km/h markings
- Also SE Asia (as mentioned) also ONLY have km/h markings
