Need advise on what clutch to get for my 78 CVCC
Hello H-T. Been gone for a while. So my 4 spd. 1978 Civic CVCC feels like its getting harder to put into gear lately. Looks like it going to be time for a new clutch. I have Honda mechanic told me that his parts provider Worldpac does not have it anymore and appears to be discountinued. Had looked a while back and saw the manufacturer was Exedy. I was wondering if any of you can recommend a place where to get a clutch plus all parts for clutch job. And no not Autozone, Pep Boys, Kragen etc. My beloved Type-R was stolen last week so now am going to start fixing up my CVCC. Thanks.
Ok go to a website called clutchnet.com they sell a ton of clutch parts for the civics. Even for your first gen civic. When on the site just click on the are that says "Clutch Kits" (its in the top right corner) then from there just select honda civic from the drop down list. Then itll bring up a whole punch of civic clutch parts.
Hope this helps you out.

any standard clutch kit should be fine for these cars. Racing clutch is not needed with the paower of them. Try Rockauto.com lots of cheap ones there.
Also, be aware the syncros wear out badly on these cars. I am suspecting it may be your transmission more than your clutch.

Oh man thanks for the heads up on that redr2. Is replacing the syncros a big expensive chore? Are these parts available? Thanks.
the syncors to require a tear down. But too complicate things the parts are very hard to come buy. A lot of guys go with a different transmission. the 80-83 ones swap over as well.
