Default NEED HELP,side exit exhaust

hi guys,am wanting to know does the lenght of the pipe have to be certain lenght for it to work suficent?and diameter?,am been told somtimes its not good to have such short exhaust with back pressure etc,but the way my car is now,i had a quick look there, and i probly wont be able to take it out to the side,no room,so what i was thinking was maybe just from the downpipe and add abit of lenght to that(not even a foot in lenght) an leave it towards the ground,am afraid incase its to short an i lose power.whats your views?
thanks

you wont know back pressure until you put a back pressure sensor on it.

the turbo creats back pressure. you don't want any back pressure after the turbo, but you don't want to put a 4" dump on a 300 hp car.
i don't know if putting a muffler on a turbo car will increase torque though.

car is 400bhp ish,was going to just put about a foot of pipen on to the down pipe,3 inch thick,no mulfer or that.

i seen lots of drag cars runing short side exhausts an work wel,is there a limit on power to run one then you saying?

dont run exhaust. i run a 4" exhaust with a turn down. you want 0 back pressure after the turbo.

remember, you want the o2/wideband about 1 1/2 ft from the end so the outside air doesn't disturb it

We have them about every which way you could imagine around here, we rarely build em with exhaust anymore.

Side exits and open dumps are quick and easy to make. O2 sensor placement is also a breeze.

Up pipes, the o2 sensor placement can get a little tricky. I fell like mine is in the wrong spot, seems to read ok, but I feel like condensation settles into the element shorting its life. Seems like cold startups are rough on mine. I think if I took mine out of the bottom of the bend and moved it to the side of the bend, it would help sensor life.
